About the speakers:

Dr Chloé Germaine is a Reader in the Department of English at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she co-directs the Manchester Game Centre. Her research investigates how culture, creativity, and play can tackle climate change and other social issues. As a creative practitioner in the indie game design space, Chloé also works to connect academia and the creative industries. Chloé is Co-Lead of STRATEGIES (Sustainable Transition for Europe's Game Industries), a €3.9M Horizon Europe-funded project that supports Europe's game developers in achieving climate goals and harnessing games as drivers of inclusive societal transformation.

Carol North plays connect-the-dots at a professional level. Starting her career in the toy industry, she discovered that packaging could be more than a box, it could tell a story. Her knack for weaving creativity with clarity led her to Fuseneo, where she’s the Curator of Connections. At Fuseneo, Carol builds connections between clients and creative teams, turning big ideas into collaborative progress. Whether she’s translating trends, linking strategy to storytelling, or bringing people together around a common goal, Carol’s all about finding the throughline that makes packaging click and relationships stick.
